A Scandinavian Pilgrimage

  • The Diocesan House Of Retreat The Street CM3 1HA United Kingdom (map)

Quiet Day - No need for a passport, simply bring yourself and discover some of the spiritual treasures of Norway and Sweden

A pilgrimage is a journey to a special location where we expect to discover more about ourselves and God – as well as seeing new places and meeting new people. Please join Rev Canon Roger Matthews for a virtual pilgrimage north through Norway to the ancient pilgrimage destination of Trondheim and then south through Sweden to see three magnificent cathedrals, including the one in our partner dioceses of Karlstad.

Apart from an optional walk, we won’t travel far but through word and image we will see some new places, perhaps meet new people and have the space to discover more about God and ourselves.

Roger has spent his entire ordained ministry in the Diocese of Chelmsford in various leadership roles and had the privilege of coordinating the diocesan partnerships with the World Church and leading groups of pilgrims to Kenya, Karlstad and the Holy Land. Now retired, Roger has recently returned from a six-week visit to Norway and Sweden.

This event is open to everyone. (If you would like to combine this with an overnight stay please contact The Retreat House office direct 01245 237251)
