A Quiet Day to dig deeper into the story of Mary Magdalene
Led by Rev Vanessa Herrick. On the eve of her Feast Day (22nd July), this Quiet Day will offer us all (both men and women!) an opportunity to dig deeper into the story of Mary Magdalene, the Apostle to the Apostles; to encounter her both as a woman and as a follower who discovered what it was to be forgiven, faithful and free; and to explore where her unique story may connect with ours.
Vanessa Herrick retired as Archdeacon of Harlow in the Diocese of Chelmsford in 2023. Before ordination, she worked as a music teacher and then for a national charity which supported families bereaved though cot death. Since 1996, she has worked in a range of ministry, discernment and teaching roles as well as in parish ministry in Dorset. Knowing there’s more to life than the C of E, she chills out by watching international rugby and cricket, visiting art galleries, baking bread, gardening and enjoying the company of friends over good food and wine.
The day can be combined with an overnight stay or two at the House. If you would like this please contact the Retreat House direct 01245 237251.
