The Quiet Yes: Journeying with Joseph

  • The Diocesan House Of Retreat The Street CM3 1HA United Kingdom (map)

A Quiet Day

Led by Rev Dr Will Rose-Moore. In a time when masculinity is being examined more closely than ever, this Quiet Day explores Joseph, the father of Jesus who sits in the background of the Nativity stories.

This day of silence and reflection in the beautiful setting of Pleshey Retreat House will be interspersed with worship and three talks, exploring different elements of Joseph’s character and God’s call on his life, as he supports Mary and welcomes Jesus into the world.

Although the commercial Christmas season will be over, this is a good opportunity to continue in the Christian celebration of Christmas which lasts until February.

Revd Dr Will Rose-Moore is a priest and theologian, serving as Assistant Curate at St John’s Church, Loughton in the Diocese of Chelmsford. He completed his PhD from Anglia Ruskin University with Westcott House and the Cambridge Theological Federation. Will’s publications include Boys Will Be Boys, and Other Myths: Unravelling Biblical Masculinities (2022) and For Nothing is Hidden: Masculinities and Trauma in Church and Theology (ed. 2026).

If you wish to have add an overnight stay or two, please contact The Retreat House office direct 01245 237251.
