Daily Prayer – Origins and practice

Wednesday, 18th March @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

£30

What is the purpose of and traditions surrounding the offices of Daily Prayer? Spend the day learning the origins, framed by prayer, and how to create and establish a pattern of Daily Prayer in our own lives. Come to a place steeped in prayer to learn about prayer.

During the course of the day we will reflect upon the origins of Daily Prayer in the Early Church, Daily Prayer in the Anglican Tradition and practical ways in which we might establish a pattern of Daily Prayer in our own lives. The day will include Morning, Midday and Evening Prayer. This will be a day of teaching framed by prayer with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share our own insights.

Reverend Canon James Milne is the Precentor of St Paul’s Cathedral in London and Secretary of the Joint Liturgical Group of Great Britain. He previously served as a parish priest and hospital chaplain in Scotland and convened the Provincial Liturgy Committee of the Scottish Episcopal Church.
